A Message from Principal Adkins

Principal’s Message

Welcome to Bidwell School, Home of the Bulldogs! We are a neighborhood school in the Red Bluff Union Elementary School District serving students from transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. We are located in Tehama County, the gateway to some of the most beautiful outdoor recreation opportunities in the golden state of California. Bidwell has an incredible team of staff, faculty, and parents who partner together to nurture respectful, responsible, kind, and safe citizenship in all students.

At Bidwell School we firmly believe that the foundation of a quality education rests on building positive relationships with one another.  Whether we are working with our community, parents or colleagues, our commitment is to work in partnership for the success of every student. Here at Bidwell, students engage in creative and challenging learning activities. We also offer a variety of enrichment opportunities in our commitment to nurture the whole child.

As the principal of Bidwell School, I am committed to providing every child with a quality education. To support learning at Bidwell, I am often in classrooms, or on the campus working with students and teachers so you will not frequently find me sitting in my office during classroom hours. I value communication and truly want to partner with you in the education of your child. Please feel free to grab me for a quick chat if you see me out on campus, or better yet, schedule a face-to-face or telephone meeting so I can give you my undivided attention. My secretaries, Ruthie or Michelle, in the front office will be happy to schedule time for us to meet.

As Bidwell Bulldogs, we are proud of our school and we invite you to come by and see us preparing to be the Leaders of Tomorrow.

Suzanne Adkins, Principal

Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

Bidwell School participates in a school-wide behavior plan known as PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports). The key premise of this system is to focus on educating the kids on behavior expectations, continually practicing those expectations, and staying positive.  The staff handbook on PBIS can be found by clicking here:  PBIS Handbook.  A great resource that could be used at home is the PBIS World site.  Here you can find suggestions on how to deal with specific behaviors your child might be exhibiting.  That link can be found here:  PBIS World .
