Box Tops for Education

Did you know that Bidwell School saves box tops?  They can be found on many products (cereal, granola bars, snacks, etc.).  Our school gets money for each little box top we send in. Last year we earned $2000.  Our goal this is to earn $5000.  The money will be used for playground equipment that all the kids will be able to enjoy.  Check those boxes, clip those tops, and send them in to school!  You can check the status of our goal by clicking the link below.

Bidwell is having a holiday book fair this week.  The book fair will be open in the library after school all week long (December 4th through December 8th).  All the proceeds from this fair will go toward buying books for the school.  Come on by and pick up a book or two.  They make great Christmas gifts!

Bidwell is collecting canned goods to donate to the Salvation Army.  Between December 4th and December 18th we are trying to collect as many canned goods and non-perishable food items as we can.  Your child can bring these items to his/her classroom.  The fourth graders will bring all the donated goods to the Salvation Army on December 18th.  During this season of giving, please consider making a canned food donation.

Mr. Doty's students were the Line Up leaders on November 17th.  They shared some very interesting facts about Thanksgiving and some things they were thankful for.  Did you know the heaviest turkey, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, weighed 86 pounds?  California consumes more turkey on Thanksgiving than any other state!  The turkey pardoned by President Obama, named Courage, took a trip to Disneyland.  They didn't eat turkey or pumpkin pie at the first Thanksgiving.  Thanks for the fun information, Room 1!

Bidwell meets together as a school every Friday morning to celebrate with each other and learn from one another.  Parents are always welcome to attend.
